About Tom Moore Builder
Tom Moore Builder is a building and remodeling company located in Underhill, Vermont. Started in 1968 as E T Moore Builder, by Tom's father Edwin, it became Tom Moore Builder in 1983 and is now a third-generation company. Tom runs the business with the help of his sons Justin and Lincoln. In a time when many builders are building cookie cutter homes at a rapid rate, Tom Moore Builder focuses on projects one at a time. Creating homes and spaces that enhance the lives of their clients in the goal in mind.
Tom Moore Builder has been at the forefront of green building long before seeing solar panels on roofs was a common occurrence. Positioning homes based on solar exposure, utilizing environmentally friendly materials and installing air exchange systems to help a tight home breathe are not add-ons, they are the norm when building with Tom Moore Builder.
Tom Moore Builder has received numerous Better Home Awards, presented by the Home Builders ad Remodelers Association of Northern Vermont in the categories of Best Luxury Home, Best Single Family Home, Best Kitchen and Best Bath. The high quality work of the company has been featured in the Burlington Free Press, The New York Times, Woman's Day Magazine, Remodeling Magazine, The Journal of Light Construction and more.
Tom is always excited to meet potential clients and invites you to meet at his beautiful home in Underhill for a tour and to discuss your project.
About Tom
In 1967 Tom’s family moved to Vermont from New York. Tom started hands on building with his Dad and brother at the age of 15. He began building what would eventually be his family’s home.
Tom attended Johnson State College and in 1973 he married his sweetheart Deb who was an RN student at the time. He became partner with his Dad, Ed, and brother John in ET Moore and Sons – the family building business. In 1978 his son Justin was born and it was around this time Tom also took over the family business enlarging the company into a building/remodeling and furniture/cabinetry business. Tom and Deb’s second son Lincoln was born in 1981.
As they grew up both sons worked part time in the business and they now both work full time in the company. Deb went on to become a Nurse Practitioner and has recently retired. Tom enjoys having his family close by and mountain biking, skiing, and hiking with the family dogs.
